Reverse engineering the origins of intelligence

This testbed contains experiments for testing whether artificial brains learn like newborn brains.

This testbed is maintained by the Building a Mind Lab at Indiana University. Our mission is to understand the origins of intelligence.

Our approach:

  1. Use high-powered methods to obtain precise benchmarks of how intelligence develops in newborn animals

  2. Use those benchmarks to build artificial agents (computational models) formalizing the core learning mechanisms in newborn brains
